Magnificent Art Deco era (circa 1920) Kashmir color sapphire bangle bracelet made of mixed 18 karat yellow gold cuff and platinum panel. The two cushion shaped sapphires, each weighing an approximate 1.75 carats (measuring 7.75 x 5.80 x 4.10mm and 7.65 x 5.75 x 4.25mm respectively), are claw set into an articulated oppositely facing rectangular pattern of a geometric shaped panel made of platinum and bordered by old European round brilliant cut diamonds. Both sapphires are typically for the period synthetic and with an absolutely fantastic Kashmir rich royal blue color. Further centering the panel, are two larger and nearly identical by size old European round brilliant cut diamonds, each weighing approximately 0.35 carats and having measures of 4.65 x 4.65 x 2.7mm. At each corner of the diamond sapphire border there are 8 slightly larger old European diamonds having weight of 0.05cts. each and measuring 2.11 x 2.11 x 1.40mm. The rest of the diamond border encircling the sapphires consists of another 20 diamonds having a combined weight of 0.30 carats. Total estimated diamond weight is 1.40 carats and total estimated sapphire weight is 3.50 carats. Both yellow gold sides of the geometric panel are richly engraved with floral motifs, while the platinum panel itself measures 28mm in length and 11mm wide. The bangle has a slightly oval shape and has a horizontal diameter of 58mm and a vertical one of 53mm. Gross weight of the bracelet is 35.8 grams of 18K gold including platinum panel. There are no visible hallmarks applied to clasp or safety chain of the bangle, but there is a visible partial maker’s mark that appears atop the flower engravings at one side of the panel, which has two last characters reading “CO”. It is a possibility, that those two characters are part of a T&CO (Tiffany & Co.) mark or a Marcus & Co. one, but this is not confirmed. The present bangle bracelet is an absolutely stunning antique jewelry collector piece and one of the scarce examples of Art Deco diamond bracelets and jewels of the highest possible quality.
